TURNING 65 THIS YEAR?
Congratulations, You are eligible to apply for Medicare for a period of seven months. the 3 months prior to your 65th birthday, your birthday month and the 3 months after your birthday.
You may be receiving stacks of mail and phone calls from medicare companies. You will need to make decisions that will effect your health care for years to come.
The first thing you need to do is contact social security and apply for Medicare.
Then you need to decide what type of Medicare plan is right for you.
Do you go with an HMO or PPO in a Medicare Advantage Plan Part C? Or do you go with a Medicare Supplement Plan to help manage your costs?
You will also need to decide on a Prescription Drug Plan as well (Part D).
It can be puzzling as to what are the right choices. As I represent most of the major Medicare companies, I can compare and contrast their policies AND it costs no more to deal directly with me, instead of calling an operator at the company.
